A US man stabbing four people to death including many others pedestrians who later survived the attack forces the police to launch a manhunt against him.
The man whose name is Maksim Gelman has supposedly killed his step-father, ex-girlfriend and her mother, before running over a pedestrian, in a 28-hour rampage in New York City, police said.
“It’s so horrendous and bizarre. We have no reason to know why he did this,” said Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.
He said had not recalled seeing “anything like this” in the decades he had worked for the New York police department.
A high End Drama
Gelman had a row with his mother after she refused to allow him to take her Lexus car. The denial of car is said to be the root cause for him to go into rampage in killing spree.
His first attack was on his step father Aleksandr Kuznetsov, in Brooklyn’s Sheepshead Bay neighbourhood.
He later went to his Ex-Girl friend house and killed her mother Anna Bulchenko aged 56.
Returning home, Yelena Bulchenko, 20, is said to have discovered her mother and called police. The attacker, who was still in the house, then chased her outside and stabbed her 11 times, police said.
Police said he then drove away in the Lexus, hitting another car in Brooklyn’s Midwood neighbourhood.
When the driver confronted him, Mr Gelman allegedly stabbed him three times in the chest. The victim survived and is in a stable condition.
The suspect then allegedly hit a pedestrian, 62-year-old Stephen Tanenbaum, who died of his injuries.
The Suspect Gelman was however caught hold by the police when he tried to attack the driver of the local train.
He is now under custody and is pending investigation.
