The Brooklyn Nets has reached an agreement with Jason Collins, who is NBA’s first openly gay player.
This 10-day contract is a major breakthrough as it is the first contract for an openly gay athlete in major professional sports history.
The agreement has already been signed. Which means that Jason Collins will be available to play on Sunday when Brooklyn Nets meets the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center.
Well, the Brooklyn Nets were in a kind of a deadlock after Glen Davis decided to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday. Brooklyn Nets where to forced to move into their Plan B and get Collins on-board.
This does seems like a decision for Brooklyn Nets out of necessity as Collins was without a job offer throughout the NBA preseason and regular season after he revealed about his sexuality in the spring.
