Zombies seems to be no more a horror movie idea. It seems to have gotten real in ants according to National Geographic.
This whole Zombie nature of the ants seems to be caused by one particular type of fungus that simply takes over the ant’s brain. But it doesn’t start feeding over other ants or no other zombie like behavior that you watch on movies.
Once the fungus takes over the brain of the ant. It controls the ant and makes it move towards a location that is ideal for the fungus to grow. Then it simply kills the ant. Who thought a fungus could be so evil ?
These wild discoveries were made by a group in Brazil headed by entomologist David Hughes. National Geographic published a series of pictures of ants that have “lost their minds” to the fungus. You can check out a sample of them below.
