Following are the top 10 movies at the box office in the United States and Canada during the three days beginning on Sept. 17, led by the new release “The Town,” according to studio estimates compiled on Sunday by Reuters.

“The Town” and “Inception” were released by Warner Bros. Pictures, a unit of Time Warner Inc.

“Easy A,” “Resident Evil: Afterlife” and “Takers” were released by Screen Gems, and “Eat Pray Love” and “The Other Guys” by Columbia Pictures. Both are units of Sony Corp.

“Devil” was released by Universal Pictures, and “The American” by Focus Features. Both are units of General Electric Co’s NBC Universal.

“Alpha and Omega” was released by Lionsgate, a unit ofLions Gate Entertainment Corp.

“Machete” was released by 20th Century Fox, a unit of News Corp.
