The Expendables 2010 Review

I got to watch this movie last night. I kinda got mis-leaded by the ratings in IMDB. I usually trust IMDB ratings, but this time it made me think twice about how it can works.

The Expendables

The Expendables

Back to the movie The Expendables. The movie stars Sylvester Stallone(as Barney Ross), Jason Statham (Lee Christmas), Jet Li (Ying Yang), Dolph Lundgren(Gunner Jensen), Erick Roberts, Steve Austion and some more actors. It is directed by Sylvester Stallone himself.

The list of actors must tell you all about the movie. Its a fully action packed movie with a lot of nail biting, seat grabbing scenes. The movie has no plot no story whatsoever. If you want to spend a hour and half watching machine-gun wielding pumped-up alpha male killing ‘bad-guys’ and blowing up everything around them(I am NOT exaggerating here) This movie is definitely for you.

I enjoyed it because of the scenes that were played very well in a thrilling manner.

Now back to IMDB rating, I usually expect anything above a rating of 7 in IMDB to be fully packed with a good story and plot thats a complete package.

Now The Expendables has a rating of 7.2 (too many Fanboys ??) I did enjoy the movie but when I rate it I have to look at other factors too. This movie really missed a lot other then being a pure action movie to its core. Some may get bored of it. I was kinda bored during the end. How long can a man enjoy continuous explosions and gun firing ?

I think i’ll give it a 6/10.

This movie is definitely worth a watch but of course you must know what you are going to expect.
