Now, Facebook is behind Divorce!

Facebook, world’s renowned social media website, has been caught up against yet an another controversy. Facebook has been blamed to be the most tempting reason behind the divorces.

A law firm called Divorce-Online said that 33% of the 5,000 behaviour based divorce petitions filed with the firm in the past year mentioned the site.

“Facebook has become the primary method for communicating with friends for many people,” the Daily Mail quoted Mark Keenan, managing director of Divorce-Online, as saying.

“People contact ex-partners and the messages start as innocent, but lead to trouble.”

“If someone wants to have an affair or flirt with the opposite sex then it’s the easiest place to do it,” he said.

Holy cow, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg would have never thought about this in his wildest nightmares. What started as social networking has now turned out to be the utter reason behind divorces and other illegal activities.

Facebook? Blamed for Divorces? Stop Joking!

Some readers might think this is a sure waste of time talking about Facebook. But, I may remind you, Facebook has already faced several lawsuits, not to mention, the lawsuit of keeping the privacy detail of a user even after the user has personally deleted the message or photo or status.

Just a Facebook status message might leave you in danger, says Anne-Marie Hutchinson, of Dawson Cornwell Solicitors.

“If you are keeping things from your partner, Facebook makes it so much easier for them to find out.”

Hutchinson said that the site could also be used as evidence of unreasonable behaviour.

“If you are complaining that they have a drinking problem and they have posted statuses about going out on the razzle… that could be used,” she added.
